Choral music has the ability to inspire and uplift us. We are moved by its unique ability to communicate stories, cultures and feelings through words and music, carried by the human voice. Perhaps its greatest strength lies in its power to bring people together, united in song and purpose, and breathing as one.
Experience music from around the globe in Songs of the World, a gala event featuring three first-class international choirs – the Estonian Television Girl’s Choir (Estonia), La Cigale de Lyon (France) and Riga Cathedral Girls’ Choir TIARA (Latvia) – alongside Cairns based Gondwana Indigenous Children’s Choir, and the choirs of Cairns State High School, St Andrew’s Catholic College and St Monica’s College.
Cementing Cairns as a true choral hub in Australia, this night of song, led by Artistic Director Lyn Williams AM, will culminate in a massed ensemble of over 300 singers coming together to raise the roof of the Cairns Performing Arts Centre. Presented by CPAC and Gondwana Choirs.
